So my friend Gar-bear gave me this idea for a game.
Picture an online Java game featuring stick figures in the context of mortal combat. So I'm at my computer and your at yours.
On screen a letter is displayed that I have to type. When I type it my stick figure performs a random attack motion. The screen now presents my foe a key to hit and they have to respond thus invoking the stick figure to put up a defense move that coincides with the attack made and then put a counter attack. The screen then presents a key for me to press and it goes back and forth back and forth.
The bugs would be the following:
Flowiness of the battle but there are programmable ways around that.
The system is thus, The computer has any hint of random attacks. 1-5 let's say. The first is a sweeping attack. If the computer produces number one than my stick figure will begin a sweeping attack. So what can be used to counter a sweeping attack? 6-10 are counter's to sweeping attacks. 6 is just to jump and then punch. If the computer randomly picks 6 after my opponent hits the key that they need to then their stick figure will jump and punch. 11-15 are counters to punches. So if you have any combination to these the fighting never gets old because you constantly see different combinations. The whole point of the stick figures is to make the game stay engaging.
Speed. I was thinking that every battle starts off slow and as each person hits a key the required time to hit the next key decreases therefor causing the battle to go faster and faster until there is only one victor. So for example, when I hit a button my stick figure executes the attack quickly and then slows down right before impact and then when they hit a key it speeds up until next point of contact then i hit a key. With every single key stroke the battle gets faster and faster so eventually you have this very quick pace fight where the first miss of the right key will take you down.
Would this not be the ultimate test in reaction time?

Thoughts
So after being sick and stuck in my bed for the entire day I start to get a lot of random thoughts and I feel the need to write them down.
Basically the new year 2011 is coming up. What am I gana do? Do I have any goals or any desires? I wrote a few of them down already in my itouch but what else is on my mind?
This is going to be the best semester yet. I want to go above and beyond the material in class so that I can have a more than general knowledge of each subject.
I need to prepare for Orem frisbee in the spring and then BYU summer ultimate and then Orem fall frisbee.
I need to be thinking about a hockey team I can join.
I've got to get a hold of an xbox 360 so that I can try out assassin's creed.
I need to figure out if I really want to minor in Italian and pursue the study abroad in Siena or go a different route such as business, finance, or computers and humanities.
I want to make a ganandorf costume and photoshop a lightening ball coming out of my hands.
I want to learn how adobe after effects works haha.
I do need to get some sort of audio book. I am thinking about getting the DiVinci code. I still haven't watched the movie. I at least need to read it as well as it's prologue.

Holmes
It is to my very optimal pleasure that I am engaged in some of the Sherlock Holmes books and Sherlock's extraordinary ability to discern, understand, and make notes of things astounds me. Is it really possible?
The books and movie share overwhelming evidence of reasons why it perhaps may be possible but what they fail to show are the other possibilities associated with the evidence thus produced by the read and discerned by Holmes himself. The other forms of deduction that he takes into account include not only marks on the person or clothes but also the environment in which they find themselves, the weather, sounds, smells, all forms of different sensory information that can be located in whichever study he is making.
One could visualize the process as a huge database off possible reasons, categorized as only the mind can. As you start putting pieces together slowly things are canceled out and the database shrinks to the only remaining prospects and possibilities, assuming that the database has all information which would require a perfect brain. Holmes, however smart he really is does not have a perfect brain and therefor has an incomplete database. Luckily the writer sometimes allows this imperfection to come through to the audience.
I also highly disagree with the thought that the brain is an empty attack with a limited storage space. If this were the case people would not become smarter as they get older which looking at the difference between a kid and a scholar, is very concrete proof of the phenomenon that indeed we do learn in this life and acquire more knowledge and skills.
