An update

It has been many moons since my last post for which I apologize to those adamant readers of mine... yeah... But first thing is first.

I want to let you know that I am laying here on my couch and peering over to the adjacent one where there is a beautiful blond asleep. I'm not staring at her and I'm not being a creeper, but I love her to death and I am so grateful that she exists in my life... maybe I should take a picture...

There we go. Don't you just love technology? But I love this girl to death, as I have said. I want to do everything in the world for her. I want to treat her like a princess and help her accomplish all her goals.

I wish I could write a poem for her... but I'm not that good. Instead I'd like to share a couple of story ideas.

I have always loved the idea of super powers. Now that I think about it this idea is close to spider man. What would happen if someone were bit or stung by a super powered animal or human right before death, or for some reason a power was invested into someone for unknown reasons. Specifically I was thinking of Kida from Atlantis.

How would that affect an elementary kid or a teenager's life? What if they became a guardian or some being of the sort with special powers and new responsibilities?

The other story that I was thinking about is a comedy. Suppose two families moved into a neighborhood. One family is a big family of con artists intending on robbing the whole neighborhood blind. The other is the nicest stereotypical smiles all the time family that wants to improve the neighborhood as much as possible, hoping to make friends immediately. How would these families interact? I think that would be kind of hilarious.

In other news just a little bit more than a month left before I get married... can't tell what I have on my mind huh. Classes are over and finals are next week. I feel slightly prepared for them all and I think I will do well. Who honestly knows? And then I will start my internship which will be quite difficult if I'm not mistaking. I have to make an anagram web program. At least it will look good on my resumes.

Never disrespect pizza.

The Indeterminable Question

While reading Doctrine and Covenants 76 I started thinking about Philosophical Writing 300 in which, for the past couple of days, we have been sharing presentations regarding our term papers that we have turned in.

I have had many fears over this past semester and many scares. I've often questioned my ability to learn, my capacity to draw conclusion, my decisions to think in the way I do, and the habit that I have finally formed up until this point in my life.

I find it so difficult to recall things from High School and Middle and Elementary. I can't remember very well the particulars and the definitions. I am at a loss for the key components on which I can build my basis. All of these fears are based on my ability to recall facts and connections, mostly dealing with vocabulary. My vocabulary level is very low in comparison to others. But putting all these impairments aside, one special presentation hit me.

One of the guys presented an argument for the legalization of cocaine, marijuana, and heroine. I'm not sure if I completely or agree or not, but that is besides the point. However, the consideration of all the premises and arguments for or against their legalization depend on what people will do. The conclusion is based off of our ability to predict human behavior. How will behavior change if nothing is done, which means to leave the laws alone, and how will behavior change if these substances were legalized? That is the question.

Applying the same theory to other debatable questions. Is cloning good or bad? It can be narrowed down to the question, when do organs have life? But then I think about these questions a little bit more and I see their subjectivity to my brain. Is abortion right or wrong? When does the soul enter the body? When does it constitute murder? If we could answer this black and white question then for me, the case would be solved. It always comes down to one question and then show both possibilities depending on its answer.

This theory is interesting to me. I like things in black and white. Using this method I think we can narrow down many of today's debates and discussions.
