"Now let me explain the process," said Micaie.
He rotated his chair around towards the computer screen with an illustration of the concept and motioned his audience to come in closer.
"Now the main problem of life is transportation and therefor speed since all transportation relies on an amount of time to make it either affordable or convenient. Now what if we could jump past the speed of light? Here is the concept.
When Einstein discovered that all mass exhibits some amount of energy it was also concluded that you could never hit the speed of light due to the lack of energy required within our bodies to make the jump. However, the closer you get to the speed of light the more energy you must exhibit and at the moment you hit light speed I purpose that you would become pure energy in the most basic form of a jumbled mass of electrons, protons, and neutrons or unorganized matter.
Here is the tricky part. We take all this unorganized matter as it was before we launch someone into light speed and we create a sort of blue prints for their bodies which we input into the stream of energy that we have created. We send it along with the accelerated energy and practically "beam" it to the final location of interception."
"But wouldn't that mean we could just take a blueprint as they are now and send that by itself so that scientists at the other location could replicate anyone using the current matter that they have?" asked John pensively.
"Necessarily, and this is why it gets tricky and would require many amounts of tests which our benefactors Concor have so generously donated," replied Micaie.
"From what my understanding of how we get our intellect is, is that only the matter that is associated with our current bodies has the ability to be commanded by us. To replicate something with that blue print but without the proper matter would be creating an empty shell with nothing to give it life.
At the final location we would then slow down the matter and use the blue print to piece it back together in its proper order as it turns back form energy to matter, just as photons give up their energy to electrons in photosynthesis the energy generated from the speed would give up it energy and then again become matter."
"That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard and even if it were true or possible it doesn't solve any riddle about how we can advance an objects velocity above or beyond that of the speed of light. How do you propose we do that genius?" asked Marc skeptically.
"Aha, the easier problem that we have had to deal with," replied Micaie.
"When you go jogging you probably maintain a speed of about 5 or 7 miles an hour, correct."
"I'd like to say I go faster but yes."
"Well if we stick you on a boat going 50 knots then you would then be running at a pace of 5 or 7 miles an hour but traveling at a rate of 50 knots plus 5 or 7 miles an hour, correct?"
"I suppose so."
"So lets put you your boat in a man made wave pool and set jets to propel the water at 20 miles an hour. We can assume that your relative speed would not be 20 miles an hour plus 50 knots plus 5 or 7 miles an hour, correct?
Now the energy required to propel you is the same amount of energy invested by the three components, your legs, the boat's engines, and the man made wave pool's jets. With magnetism nature's natural forces are used to repel same charged sides. Here is what we propose," He hit a series of keys on the computer. "We build a compartment as if it were a space ship, and we put magnets within it so as to propel the object in account, and then we put that ship in another ship that has magnets which will propel the first ship, and we put that second one in a third one. Using magnetism it would be like propelling the propeller which propels the propeller so as to reach a speed unaccounted for." said Micaie very pleased with himself.
"You can't deny the logic of it. Now we only need to test if it works."
"I'm still skeptical and that doesn't answer how we are going to slow down the energy that composes 'us' so as to be able to recreate ourselves."
"It's simple," called a voice from the catwalk at the other edge of the room. It was Calvin, the authority of Concor. "We shoot it with energy in reverse order as if two ping pong balls hit each other at the exact right angle and the exact right speed so as to slow down the one and dissipate the other. We need you on board gentleman. You are the brightest in the world and we need to put forth this theory to test at so many levels that human beings will trust themselves into being turned into energy."
John and Marc looked at Felix, who hadn't said a word the entire time. He looked back at them and nodded. Felix had the most creativity under his resume. He was known for his genius and knowledge but even more so for his clever ways of using that knowledge. His silence always put everyone in the room at unrest. He just didn't care to talk that much. He wasn't shy but neither was he a fool.
"We'll do it," said John, the natural leader.

Care
So I've been thinking a lot about how we show others that we care. Obviously the first thing that comes to mind is the book, the 5 love languages.
But when we really stop and think about it the only logical answer would be that is dependent on each individual what their best way of feeling loved is. If everyone's character can be categorized into 5 different types of care/love then perhaps that is a good place to start but never a good place to finish. The only way to find out how people like to be cared for is to try and get to know them. I would suggest trying each of these different languages and see if the individual appreciates one more than the others etc.
One of the hardest things to do is to love someone that doesn't want to be loved or doesn't want your love. In that case the only solution that I could think of is to keep the door open, perhaps not actively pursuing how to care for that person but rather to make sure that you are always friendly and kind. If someone doesn't want to open up and let someone else in then it won't happen no matter how much that person feels loved by you.
I think back in my life about the people that I have tried to care about but couldn't, namely girls, but most often times people with cliques. I like to think about people forming circles at dances where the most notable cliques are discovered. I have been to many dances where people just won't loosen up and let someone in unless they are super assertive, which I am not. I was always in the background outside that circle. Luckily that gave me opportunities to find other people that couldn't make it into the circle and perhaps cheer them up or help them back on stronger footing.
One way of not letting people in is to not let them provide service. I have found this extremely true in my life, even in the past couple of hours when someone has wanted to help but I felt like I could do it myself so I didn't ask for their help. Let's forget about if we think we can do it ourself, maybe we can, but if we give that opportunity for someone to serve us it will make us feel more appreciated and allow someone else to have that good service feeling that comes when we follow Mosiah's council. This is a point where I really need to work, since service is offered so little I need to be extra careful when it comes so as not to go into my default mode but let someone help with something, even if I feel that I can do it by myself. I like to think of the Princess Bride when Buttercup asks Weasley to fetch her a pitcher. She could easily have done it by herself, but that isn't the point. The point is to provide Weasley an opportunity to serve her and in so doing express his love for her.
So how can we show others that we want to be cared for and that we care? Again, it depends on the individual.

Confusion
Life is not about experiencing confusion. It is about confronting our fears. I went that when I am in a state of the most disarray it is not because the task seems overwhelming or unbearable but rather only misunderstood and confused. Order is a trait that we humans have been given from our loving Heavenly Father. We desire order in our own ways.
When we have the fear to not go out and understand/order the situation that is revolving itself around us we become panicked, frustrated, perhaps even angry.
Faith and fear cannot exist in the same mantel. Just as one cannot serve both God and Mammon if fear is in the place of our faith we slowly lose hold and slip and the order that was once within us now vanishes into misery and chaos.
We must have faith alas. Without faith we cannot fully comprehend what we are suppose to do, we cannot learn to forgive and forget, we cannot learn to accept and understand without faith.
When we root that faith in Jesus Christ it becomes augmented, passing our own understandings and reasoning at times. We are able to make order out of life and discern that which He would have us do. The fear and darkness that perhaps clouded our vision making it impossible to be in order and out of chaos wanes and we find ourselves amid thresholds of light and sunshine. Keep the faith.

Xbox
Last week I bought an xbox 360 with a kinect for my future birthday. I was ecstatic.
I got home and plugged everything in, reading through all the support rather quickly and of course turning on the kinect first to see how well this technology has been developed. I enjoy it.
In a few months the game Skyrim from Bethesda studios will be released as the next successor in a long line of role playing games released by this company. They are talking about a few different systems that will be implemented to make the gameplay more fun. Well, what about this?
The kinect has a few key features. It can read where people are, how low they are and where they put their hands. It can also take pictures and understand people's voices, I believe. Why not make a game that uses the controller as well as the kinect?
For example I'm playing a game like halo and I need to throw a grenade. Why can't I just shout grenade at the kinect, expect it to understand what I'm saying, and let the grenade fly?
If I am playing a game based on a book like Harry Potter what if every single spell had a certain phrase that needed to go with it? My pronunciation of avada kadava would make the difference between an ineffective spell or a death killing one.
If I were playing a game that requires a new language I could say certain phrases to NPC's like keywords that would open up their trust to me.
If I were playing a sword fighting game that requires two hands I could literally make the movements of a sword while having the controller in my hand to control what I am doing or where I am going. This could get complicated but it leaves room for a huge range of possibilities.
I hope that future companies will implement such technologies so that games are no longer who has the fastest reaction to which button only but who actually knows what they are playing?

Next outing
After thinking about the movie that we made at goblin valley I like the idea of making movies whenever I go on an outing.
I was reading when all of a sudden the next idea popped into my head.
We are making a drug/alcohol recovery documentary and how the various activities have helped the participants gain self worth/etc.

Before I lose it
I know the ending.

Standing for Something
I had the opportunity to go to UVU to film a video for my sister and the math lab, in which she works. I had on BYU attire. My pants had the BYU label on them. My jacket was blue with white stripes. My shirt was advertising BYU basketball. I was decked.
I started thinking about how the people were perceiving me. Was there anyone that hated BYU because of some reason?
I was walking along the sidewalk on the road with two guys in front of me who just didn't walk as fast. I passed them and kept walking. It occurred to me that I needed to set an example. It would be very possible for someone to be rubbed the wrong way by how I kept myself or how I behaved.
So let's get serious. Is it really that big of a deal to be worried about? Especially from another school's opinion?
It made me think about who I represent. How do I keep myself all the time? Who am I representing? Whose name should I carry in my countenance and actions and words and deeds every second of every moment of every day? Do people notice? Do people realize?
